My Experience: Open Boat Cruise in Amsterdam
I recently tried an open boat canal cruise, and honestly — this was the best choice.
Instead of listening to an audio guide, I just wanted to relax and enjoy the ride.

I booked a 1-hour cruise with Flagship Amsterdam.
There are multiple departure points:
- Central Station
- Red Light District
- Rijksmuseum
- Anne Frank House area
👉 Very convenient depending on where you are staying.

Even though I booked on the same day, the boat was completely full.
👉 I highly recommend booking in advance, especially on sunny days.
The seats were comfortable, and even with a full boat, it didn’t feel crowded.
Some tours offer drinks onboard — mine didn’t include them, but you could buy:
• Beer
• Wine
• Cocktails
Enjoying a cold drink while cruising made the experience even better.

There were two crew members:
• One steering the boat
• One serving drinks and sharing fun stories
It wasn’t a formal tour, but it felt much more personal and relaxed.

One highlight was passing under the famous “Seven Bridges” view.
I had seen it many times from the street — but from the water, it felt completely different.

Cruising through the canals gives you a totally new perspective of Amsterdam.
It’s calm, scenic, and surprisingly relaxing.
